The Role

Your Role

As an IT/Cloud Consultant at Kyndryl, you will step into a high-impact advisory role on fast-track, large-scale enterprise infrastructure initiatives. You will serve as a trusted partner to world-class organizations, breaking out of traditional hierarchies to architect modern cloud strategies, define sourcing frameworks, and align multi-cloud roadmaps directly with our clients' automation and business growth objectives.

You will guide customers through end-to-end modernization-from conducting ROI analyses and readiness assessments to designing secure, resilient future-state architectures. Beyond delivering individual engagements, you will act as a thought leader within the Kyndryl Consultant Profession, steering the evolution of our intellectual capital and shaping the reusable assets that cement our market leadership.

What You Will Do

• Lead the advisory and delivery phases of highly complex, multi-disciplined cloud and infrastructure consulting engagements.
• Develop strategic future-state visions, technical roadmaps, and provider sourcing strategies aligned with enterprise IT automation goals.
• Conduct business case, ROI, and technical readiness assessments to identify inefficiencies, reduce operational risk, and optimize total cost of ownership.
• Capture, prioritize, and translate functional and non-functional requirements into scalable, resilient, and secure cloud platform designs.
• Guide the adoption of Platform Engineering practices, self-service developer portals, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) workflows.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, project managers, and technical SMEs to deploy, configure, and optimize Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
• Ensure security, identity and access management, and observability best practices are seamlessly embedded into cloud architectures.
• Create and expand Kyndryl's reusable consulting assets, frameworks, and intellectual capital to drive practice-wide innovation.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven hands-on experience in a Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Infrastructure Consultant capacity.
• Demonstrated experience architecting, deploying, and configuring environments across major public or private cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, or OpenShift).
• Practical expertise with Kubernetes and container technologies, encompassing workload deployment, configuration, cluster operations, and troubleshooting.
• Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and integration with CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Thorough understanding of Platform Engineering principles, microservices architectures, and self-service developer platform patterns.
• Working knowledge of cloud networking, storage, IAM, security baselines, and enterprise observability (monitoring, logging, alerting).
• Strong consulting and communication skills, with a track record of translating complex technical trade-offs to non-technical executive stakeholders.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Professional certifications in public cloud platforms, Kubernetes, or enterprise architecture (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CKA/CKAD, TOGAF).
• Hands-on exposure to GitOps tooling (e.g., Argo CD, Flux) and Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs).
• Solid grasp of cloud-native security controls, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and compliance governance.
• Experience delivering projects within Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) or applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
