Engineer- Busway MoL

What you'll do:

Technical :
- Excellent experience in supporting production line of Busway/BusPlug/Switches/Breakers, LV, Rating of 50A-4000A. The targeted applications are such as Data center, Industrial, Commercial buildings of North America.
- Having an intensive knowledge in UL 857 & CSA C22,2 No . 27 standards to test and qualify the assemblies as per North America standards.
- Responsible for design engineering analysis on Busbar design, mechanism, housing ,sheet metal etc. A strong electromechanical design knowledge and system integration
- Lead multiple projects/programs/teams through execution of these programs/projects in a timely manner, supporting the business goals
- Modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirement through Change Management process
- Review new product development using appropriate tools and techniques such as DFSS, DFR, DMAIC, Tolerance stack-up etc. Should have good understanding of Design for manufacturing and assembly.
- Review reliability predictions, Design Failure Modes and Effects analysis (FMEA) and structural/thermal/CFD/MBD results.
- Develops test plans for short circuit, temperature rise, arc test in accordance with IEC/UL standards. Creates test requirements, plan for assembly and finalize test parameters & instrumentation. Responsible for conducting tests by ensuring deployment of standard practices. Assesses test results, root cause analysis through test findings/failures and takes corrective/preventive actions
- Knowledge on PLM systems (Enovia, SAP, Bid manager) will be an added advantage.
- 3D modelling, detailing and drafting experience on 3D CAD tool. (Preferred Autodesk Inventor)

Product Ownership:
- Colloborate with Global systems engineers, sales/marketing and manufacturing development teams to produce engineering designs and specifications for new features and enhancements.
- Demonstrates capability in end to end design & development of switchgear product line as per marketing requirements
- Ability to guide simulation engineers on Short circuit and Thermals
- Leverage / Establish capability to leverage local eco system for faster validation and execution
- Ability to make decisions on new and sustaining product lines towards feature enhancements, maintenance
- Accountable for providing engineering solutions for field issues, retrofits, etc.

Technology & Innovation leadership:
- Generate ideas and innovative solutions which will provide competitive edge to business products.
- Builds awareness about learning industry standards like IEEE, UL, etc. while leveraging our internal codes and standards team to ensure product compliance.
- Performs other duties as required to achieve departmental and division objectives. This may include flexing to other product line teams
- Provide the technical mentoring, review of other NPI projects, driving on time launch through technical risk assessment
- Propose Cost out ideas through benchmarking, should cost, modularity and standardization projects.

Qualifications:

Education level required : Bachelor's/Master's degree in engineering in Mechanical/Electrical
Years and area of experience required: 4+ years
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing LV electrical products
• Experience technically guiding a team through all stages of the prodcut development cycle
• Experience in short circuit, temperature rise, arc test, test duties in accordance with IEEE/IEC/UL standards
• Knowledge in Agile ProLaunch and PreLaunch processes
